Participating Organizations
Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance
We are the OVC grantee for the state of Colorado and provide direct services for all international victims of human trafficking in the state of Colorado. We coordinate all direct service needs including housing, food, medical, mental health, legal services and others depending on the needs of the survivor. We provide the direct case management through advocacy, intakes and screenings of all potential survivors and conduct life skills and safety assessments to ensure long-term survivorship of adults and minors who are survivors of human trafficking. This short film on COVA's Human Trafficking Program describes both the problem of human trafficking in Colorado and what you can do to help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGqeC5gML-0&feature=share
Laboratory to Combat Human Trafficking
LCHT works to combat human trafficking at a local and global level through participatory action research; promoting awareness and education; fostering leadership development; and forming key collaborations.
Love146 Denver Task Force
The Love146 Denver Task Force is a volunteer network that is uniting individuals in the Denver community for the common goal of the abolition of child sex trafficking and exploitation. Our task force provides the opportunity for individuals to employ their talents and passions in advocating for justice, mobilizing their fields of influence, and becoming key players in the greater movement.
Not For Sale Colorado
Not For Sale organized in Colorado in early 2008 as a grassroots expression of the Not For Sale Campaign mission in our state. We are engaged in recruiting and motivating volunteers to end modern day slavery, through volunteer-initiated projects (open source activism) and in our own advocacy, detection and victim support initiatives.
Prax(us)
Prax(us) is dedicated to ending human trafficking. We address the root causes of exploitation by creating systemic change and providing direct services through a comprehensive street outreach program. We conduct street outreach through a harm-reduction lens that supports youth agency and facilitates access to resources. We achieve systemic change through community organizing, collaborative relationships, community education and policy work.
Street's Hope
Street's Hope is a faith-based non-profit organization created to assist women desiring to leave sexually oriented businesses. Our clients include women working in prostitution, escorting, exotic dancing and pornography. The goal of Street's Hope is to encourage each woman to become balanced (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually), to be self-supporting apart from the sex for sale industry, and to become an active part of a healthy community.
Transitions
Transitions provides comprehensive aftercare services to girls between the ages of 13-19 years old who have been sexually trafficked, exploited, or abused. This is accomplished through a continuum of care consisting of psychological, social, educational, and health services, as well as, job training and placement, keeping the individual girl’s needs and desires at the forefront.
